Me and my buddy Jdsly went to the coast yesterday to check out another friends lot he purchased and knew there was some history associated with the area. Although the forecast looked good, it was wrong and the cold rain followed us the two hours we traveled. Started slow then Jdsly found an early flat button that kept us hopeful. Soon afterwards I dug what I believe is called an Enfield. Ive found numerous musket balls but this was my first of this type! Jdsly dug a couple more buttons and relics and I found this large "button" looking piece. Any id would be appreciated! Also found these later looking buttons.

The highlight of the hunt however came at the very end. On the way to the truck I found the cut silver! I didn't show it to Jdsly until we were in the truck heading home and he quickly responded "STOP TURN AROUND"!!! We will definitely be going back very soon! Thanks for looking.

Nice going on your cut early 1700s pistareen. That's an interesting piece as it has a smooth, intentional cut on one side and appears to be broken off on the other. You don't see those 60-deg pie slices very often.

Bill - I was actually thinking the exact same thing. I bet it was cut twice - once as a qtr or half, then again for change on the spot. I have only 1 cut piece of that size in my collection.

looks like some writing on that button...cant make out what it says tho...nice finds
