A few more finds from this week. Nothing too great, but some neat keepers.

*1937 Buffalo Nickel w/ nice readable date. (Farm find)

*Half of an old lead soldier. 1940's I'm guessing? Whatever he was cooking I wouldn't want to eat. Beans & gas don't mix kids! ;D
(Downtown find)

*A CW 2-ring cleaner bullet. (Downtown find) My second in a week. This one was two houses down from the one I found Saturday.
Any idea if this looks to have been fired?

*A small bullet with two rings. (Farm find)
Can anyone tell me what type of gun and era this type of bullet is from.
This sucker was about 10" deep in an area that I've found other CW era bullets and buttons before.

Thanks for looking.

Gypsy,
That is so cool. Thanks for finding those pictures. Now I can put a picture with my find so folks know what it DID look like before. ;D
Much appreciated.

Looks like you lovin life,

Thanks guys. That's my nicest Buffalo so far. I found it working around some bushes in front of the farm house.
Do Buffalo's normally hide in bushes? ??? ;D

sweet finds modernminer ! WTG ;)

great finds love the boyscout find would that be cooking merit badge also wonder about a date on it??, and the buff. has great detail!!

Nice finds, the second bullet has my pulling out my hair, I actually have found a few of them. The first one is the Williams cleaner III of course, but for the life of me I cannot remember the name of the second. 38 is alittle too young for me to use the "old age" for losing my memory, but at one time I could tell you every bullet I had and where I found it. If it comes to me I'll come back and post it for you.

With some better pics I am pretty confident I can I.D. that bullet. I already have a couple of ideas. :)

Here are a few more shots. The bullet on the left in the first two pictures is the one I just found. The other two to the right I found before, but have no idea what they are either?
The last picture is of ALL the lead bullets I have found so far.
Any help on the group of three would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
MM

Very nice Buffalo and a really cool bullet. Looks to me like your cook was boiling dynamite. Way to go!

You see the serration marks on the one to the right. That usually means that they are post-Civil War. I think that the one to the far left may be the same bullet as well...maybe a different variation. Can you see serration (rifling) marks on the one to the far left??? The middle one looks like it may be Civil War period. Let me check it out because it looks similar to about 3-4 other bullets..

I think the three are all post-CW.

Here's what it appears you have in the last photo:

In the left column:

1. Enfield, 2. minieball, 3. cleaner bullet, 4. minieball

In the right column:

1. various melted/fired lead pieces/camp lead/pistol shot, 2. minieball, 3. Gardiner (CSA) 4. Williamson

And on the far right:

1. .58 cal. round ball plus your cleaner from the above post.

Hope this helps,

Buckleboy

Buckle,
Thank you so much for the info. I didn't realize I had collected so many until I pulled them all out again. I love finding these bullets.

Sentinel,
No serration marks that I can see on the one on the left.
Thanks for your help too.

:D Somehow your picture of the scout doesn't quite look like Gypsy's pic of the scout, MM. :D

VERY nice find on that bullet! 8) And that's one of the best buffalo's I've seen on here!

Congrats on all those finds! Nana :)

You better go dig that large coppa now or Ridley will be :D at you. ;) :D That Buffalo looks awesome!

Doug strikes again.

What happened to the small copper jar cap? That was cool!

Nice bullets and (dated) Buffalo! We need to try to find the rest of that scout! :D

I didn't realize you had so many 3 ringers.

Congratulations, Doug!
