D buckle identification

This buckle I found today was found at an old site dating back to mid 1800s but also has some modern stuff because it is now a school yard. I believe the school which still educates grades 1 through 5 was build in the mid 1920s.
any assistance on dating this buckle would be appreciate.

You're in the right general time frame. I'd say late 19th century. That is because of the roller bar, we start seeing them in the Civil War time frame and they continue forward in time. The size makes it about right for a spectacle buckle. It is a very nice find.

More like 1920s because of the pin that is not free moving. This construction type is post 1900s.
