Dark age finds

Here's two Saxon finds that came up yesterday on an other wise barren field (apart from loads of lead fragments). They were just a few feet apart, on the left is part of a cruciform brooch, and on the right is probably half of an animal headed ring.

I'm always amazed at the finds you have. I can only imagine finding stuff so old. Love the animal head.

still alive and kicking Cru. I've had a few decent finds recently, 4 hammered, a lead medieval seal etc. Going to keep the posts down though this season (it gets too addictive).
