XP Deus II v0.6 with 11" Coil
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
5.5 hour hunt (11 man hours) systemically covered 2 acres of field and finished the first section which was the bottom end of the field, tomorrow we start the middle section. The end section has already been done last year when we got the Bronze Age Axehead. Once we have done the middle we would have completed only 1/4 of this field as it is the shape of a horseshoe.

Did OK today with;

Lead-alloy Horse Boss (Rosette)
3 lead tokens
3 scrappy roman coins
Nice livery button & a early pewter type
Late medieval rose belt decor
Medieval horse pendant (new type for us) :)

I look forward to a better day tomorrow ???

Yes, INTERESTING stuff!
Relics are sometimes more fascinating than the coins.
One of those tokens (next to last?) shows a dog that
looks like Scoobie Doo!

Wow, biggest land! It is worth to find something out there.

Richard

Not a bad hunt but I know how you feel with all the hours invested, LOL! I hope to find a scrappy Roman on the west side of Germany where I work as time is running out thank goodness, looking forward to getting back to Bavaria permanently!!! The middle lead seal looks like a lead token, I know the UK used lead tokens but not sure if Germany ever did. HH, Mike

If you mean the coins, they go in the scrap/recyling tub. Not worth spending time cleaning. (other than the 3 scrappy romans which go in a jar)

Deer me! You sure are doing good in that field! Can't wait to see the results of Day 12

Although I've never visited the UK, I have heard and read that red deer are common. Could the item circled (below) depict a red deer and therefore perhaps be associated with hunting? Could it be Scottish? Having a bit of an antler adds to the intrigue.

It was part of a deer figure (quite big as well). Not sure what it meant.

WTG on your finds

I always like seeing and reading you post. Cool deer head.

I'll be lookin' for your next post!
