All Treasure Hunting
As it was a sunny evening I decided to continue the hunt & try & recover a bad weekend.

I hunted for 2 hours on my own & Dad joined me for the last 30mins (3 man hours).

After 2 hours all I had was a possible lead token. Dad joined the hunt for the last 2 runs before dark. He had only gone 30ft or so & found a 1914 silver Sixpence. Which would have been the run I ended on, & could have been a good end for me but he stole the glory :D Teamcrusader

Not old by UK standards but we will take it on hard times :icon_sunny:

We may do a couple of hours tomorrow :-\

Crusader,

I'm glad the silver is still coming out of the ground for you! You're one of the most persistent and patient detectorists I know. You hunt frequently, and always manage to find something for your collection--whether it be relic or coin. Did you get any interesting relics this hunt?

Best Wishes,

Buckleboy

As always I post everything I keep (the coin was it :'(), the possible lead token turned out to be just lead. I did find some bits of brass furniture fitting but it went in the bin.

TeamCrusader rocks!

(the last run before day's end are often the best )

Good luck on day 27!

Nice coin.
I was curious, do you grid out the fields you hunt?
If not, how do you go about covering the whole field?
I use the "Lawn mower" method.

300metre strips with 4 flags. I leave white stones where the flags were to pick up where I left off.

Mate...I know you like to Finnish a field then strike it of the list :icon_scratch: but 26 days on that grass field would have had me pulling my hair out :cussing: would you have not been better of spending the time searching for new land, I no what your reply will be be to this but the reason I say this is because earlier in the season my detecting partner and I went through a similar spell to you were we were finding very little :'( so rather than waste time on unproductive fields we spent the next three weeks travelling round clocking up hundreds of miles which eventually paid of for us :icon_sunny:

my dad died a few years back. I would gladly let him steal every find I ever made just to have him back.
