Nice digs. That is the way it is. Something is always left at the lake. Water levels here are stable but they are arresting anyone taking anything from TVA lands at the moment and charging them $250.00 so if you have a place hunt it hard.

TN. Do you know someone this has happened to? How can they get away with that If there are no signs posted stating No Detecting Allowed?

No authority would post a sign that specific. They'd post "No Trespassing" or "No Excavating" or something like that.

Public areas all over the U.S. are starting to be closed to metal detecting at an amazing pace. I just heard on the radio today of a local park in a nearby small town abolishing the alcohol ban and in it's place banning metal detecting. Go figure.

I live on Cordell Hull lake in middle TN owned by Army Co.. They have posted signs at boats ramps . About removing artifacts from federal land, dont know if it is inforced and dont know of anyone getting charged.I have forgot the exact words. I will try to get a picture and post it. I have found a lot of stuff around the lake but it looks like it is coming to a end

It makes no sense with all the things going on in the world why someone is so concerned with someone looking for coins or relics. so sad

Yeah, the news lady said the ban was to keep "treasure hunters" from digging up the park. You don't suppose certain reality shows would have anything to do with this would you?

Hey Sonofdigger.I am sorry for getting off topic. It gets my blood pressure up when a subject comes up about not been able to hunt in some spots such as the lake my land boarders. When they took people land and then paided what they wanted to pay for it .Now you have to pay to put a boats in at most ramps,to swim,to pic nic ,for kids to play on play grounds ,camp, and to hunt game. The laws may not apply to all lakes or all states.
Great find on all the artifacts. I love finding parts of old gun.Keep hunting and take care.
Here a picture of a sign just 1 mile from my home.
