Day 3 of detecting in my back woods. I'm a newbie and could use some advice.
Any idea what the flat piece is with the slot? The chain is pretty thick with some sort of knob on end. Also looks like i have a 22 revolver cylinder. Any clue on age?
Found more nails and a few hot rocks (i guess)

That could be the chamber from a revolver but I'm no expert...

Wow. That sure looks like what I found. Thanks for sharing this. The Whats This room suggested it is a plow boy back band hook for a horse harness.
 
Could be a speed loader for a revolver also. I found a loaded one once. Keep at it.
