Spent 4.5 hours (9 man hours) on the grass sheep field which has been ploughed in the past.

We had done this field but as the grass is short & soaking wet its worth doing again.

Here is a little tip you may have done yourself? When you have done a field grid system then on your return try going at a 90 degree angle to the way you did before.

I was pleased today with several keepers at 7inches-8inches;

3 scrappy romans
Cut Qrter Hammered cica 1300 (very small easy to miss, Cortes is earning its keep) ;D - When a Penny is cut into a Qrter it becomes a Farthing.
Very interesting blank silver coin cica 1600s with various countermarks on both sides :)
Silver plating - Hallmarked Chester 1908
Medieval Square Coin Weight
Lead Token
Livery Button
and bits.......

Overall a good result 8)

Nice.

Did you spot the large halfcrown is one year too late to be silver ::)

Great digs, sir! ;D You really have some great sites to hit! You are due for an album Roman bronze! :)

BDD will be getting out tomorrow to a new Colonial field! Wish us luck!

Thanks it is a great site although we have already sucked the Roman Silver off it :)

You make your own luck but I like to limit the element of chance, so just stick to what you do best & all will end well ;D

You have the best dirt fishin in the world. Congratulations!

Amazing finds Crusader!
Just curious how big that quarter hammered piece would be in relation to a U.S. dime?
Do you use a stock coil on your Cortes?
Congrats & thanks,
MM

I hope this convinces you about the Cortes. It has the stock web coil.

Note its half the thickness of a Qrter

What from this field in the last 3 days or last 5 years? Or all my finds from 20+ years?

Holy cr-p!!!! I'm sold. That's amazing Crusader. Thanks for posting that comparison. The Cortes looks like it definitely finds the goods.
I've been half tempted to sell of some of my finds to fund one. ;)
Thank you,
MM
