And on the seventh day he rested, but not me.
I was awaken, rather rudely I might add, at 8:30 this morning by the wife who proclaimed I was lazy and she was ready to go 30 minutes ago.
The Ace was in the truck and she had procured a small bucket from the shed and outfitted it with several new digging implements for "us" ie. me to use.
She handed me a cup of coffee as I tied my shoes, and we proceeded to the larger of the two parks in our neighborhood.
As we pulled into the parking lot we both began to drool at the empty volleyball court.
It's fluffy white sand was glistening in the morning sun, and for me it meant easy digging.
Bing! Right off the bat not two feet from the edge the Ace registered a quarter. 2 inches down sure enough there it was. In the pouch it went, along with the other 10 that showed up mainly in the middle.
Along with the quarters there were a few dimes, nickels, pennies and a batting cage token.
But best of all was saved for last - GOLD!!!!!
In the last corner we walked to the Ace sang out the dreaded "pull tab" tune, but since I've been reading the post on this forum, I dig EVERYTHING. Or should I say my wife makes me dig everything.
And there it was, a large gold crucifix. The wife squealed, "see it's a sign from above, Sundays are made for treasure hunting!"
It's pretty heavy and marked 417 (European for 10k).
Some would say AWSOME, but my sunburned butt was ready for some sunday rest on the couch with my bird dog in the AC.
NOT! We now had to find more gold. (Lord have mercy I've created a total monster)
Now it was off to the high school stadium bleachers - too much trash (2 dimes)
No to a neighboring subdivisions volleyball court - sterile two pull tabs.
The to the Junior high school bleachers, three dimes and two pennies. But on the way back to the truck, bang.
A ten dollar bill!
"We ain't eating Jumbo Jacks today baby, we're going to Taco Cabana!" She blurted out as we both dove for it.
Well the Ace payed off for me that time, cause she was holding it which slowed her down just enough for me to snatch it up.
I reminded her of her statement yesterday "it's my detector, and whatever it finds is mine".
I asked her if it had a paper setting, and told her lunch was on me!
It was a great day!

Congrats, that's a really nice cross you got there. Something any of us would like to find. I can see right now that you had better get down to your dealer and buy another 250. How dose that paper program work? hehe
