When I arrived at the horse paddock on my bike (alone this weekend as Cru'dad is away), I found the the field next to it had been ploughed flat. This was only a small strip where the pipeline had gone earlier in the year, the rest was bean crops. Although we had done this area, it was flat enough to try again. I got a scrappy roman, a piece of roman pot, & a complete enamelled Victorian cup. This only took 1 hour, then I started on the Paddock.
Spent 1.5 hours on the paddock.
Blank Geo copper
17th century jetton
2 buttons
Buckles
Worn 1863 Silver Sixpence
I had a very iffy signal (which I always like & dig), it turn out to be the first Roman coin off this field. It was 5inches on its edge 8) This is the 75 bronze Roman this year but its the best one & the only one which will join my Album
(still need to ID, but I can tell from the reverse, soldier spearing a fallen horse, that its late 4th century)
So a pleasing few hours after a disappointing last visit with Cru'dad.
