Our peach colored day lillys are finally blooming!

A little bit of "difference blend mode" makes all the difference ... I liked it anyhow.

One of our "Red Velvet" flowers is blooming too. Took this pic last evening at ISO 1600, so it's a bit grainy

Went to visit one of my customers today, and really wish I'd taken my camera! The place looked like a paint truck had exploded! So many brilliant colors all through her garden it was amazing to see.

Cool creations. I'm seeing a lot more wildflowers blooming around here now.

Thank you! Yeah, the wet weather we were having must have been causing them to hold back. Looks like we'll have a bumper crop of blackberries again this year. Now if I could just get over my fear of getting snake bit!

Number 2 is #1 Super pleasing, eye catching photograph.

GOD Bless

Chris

Thank you! I was experimenting with the "orton effect" when I decided to see what would happen if instead of applying "multiply" blend mode, I applied something else.

Makes me think of Stan Lee's comic illustrations for some reason.

Pretty flowers! :occasion14:

That’s very cool what you created! I’m going to have to show that off to my artsy son-in-law! :notworthy:

Nice job on the post-processing! :occasion14:

Better yet, the pics were taken with a Nikon Coolpix. Just goes to show
that you don't need a DSLR to take great images.

Always believed that superb images are 20% camera and 80%
subject/composition, and that is the true art of photography.

I downloaded your "Day Lilly" image, and toyed with it a bit
in Lightroom. May I share the results with you?

Thanks for your kind words. Yeah, that L340 is kinda finicky but when it picks the right focus spot it's a great camera. Actually out performs my EOS Rebel (older one of course).

Have fun playing with the image, I'll even post the original if you like so you can start fresh.

I used only blend modes and blend if on the original image to get that result. With a little "masking" it might have been prettier.

After a few minutes of tinkering, this is what I arrived at:

Nice flowers and I like the post processing. So far I have over 70 different dayillies and a few more yet to bloom. This has been our best year for them. But, of all the flowers we have I like this cactus orchid the most. This is an unaltered shot, except to resize it for these forums, taken with my cell phone. The plant itself is very ugly but the blooms more than make up for it.
