Searching boxes in Phoenix used to be profitable. But about 7 years ago it changed. Half boxes became a tough item to find silver in. But the mint came out with something new about that time. A "W" quarter that was collectible. I started doing some quarter boxes. NOthing. I searched and searched, and still nothing. NOt even one.

I kept hearing of people coming back from Vegas and they would have 2 or 3 of them, just from normal transactions. It seemed like a trip was in the cards. So I drove from Phoenix to Vegas, and bought 4 boxes of quarters from four banks. Two of the boxes were empty. The other two had a total of 10 W quarters in them. SO even though I could not find ANY in Phoenix, I had 10 thanks for my little trip. Maybe not worth the gas it cost to get there, but definitely worth the trip for me, as a "searcher junkie". I put a few in my quarter books, and put some aside. here are six of them. All from 2019, and no I never did get back to Vegas to do it again, but a cool trip and a good outcome, as I took my CRH on the road.

Nice ones. I have searched and searched my pocket change hoping to someday find a W mint quarter, but it appears one of them have found their way to northeastern Oregon! Well, at least not in my pocket!
