Hello guys,

Found this decorated piece of lead a few days ago. Object was found in the Netherlands. Weighs 18 gram and 4,5cm in length and 2,5 wide. Almost looks like the end of an spoon but the dimensions Don’t seem to fit. The small part has some details of a break.

Anybody who knows what it could be ? Adjustments.jpg

Looks like the handle end of some sort of Pewter eating utensil. Pewter is a mixture of lead and tin and oxidizes similar to lead.

Hello Dug,

Thanks for you’r reply.
I think you’re right about it being pewter. do you by chance have a source on old pewter utensils ? Can’t find much about them.
