The photo speaks for itself. It's sheet brass, maybe 1/32" thick. Probably period (19th century) due to where it was found. It appears that the stampings are not perfect, nor factory-made. The piercings aren't symetrical. Other than that, I have no idea, anyone else care to hazard a guess?
