Deer head Button ID

Found this little dude in the desert by Las Cruces, NM. Chimed in around 80-84 on the ATPro. Looks like a deer/elk head embellished on the front. Possible button, maybe Rosette? Please help with ID of manufacturer and Date. Thanks, Jobrian

I searched the Waterbury Button Co site and there are similar deer buttons but no exact match. Waterbury Button - Uniform Buttons, Fashion Buttons, Metal Buttons, Brass Buttons. Collectibles - Civil War Buttons, Titanic, Blazer Button Sets. - Waterbury Button


The photo is very dark because of the white background but I think its a 2 piece button with steel back that rusted off. That would mean mid-20th century. Probably a hunt club button.

thanks for the info @bigcypresshunter , 1940-50's sounds spot on for the button, same as other items I've found in the area.
