Hey I'd like to know who to contact to metal detect on the site of a demolished home. I really would like some advise from people who have gotten permission to hunt these sites and how to hunt them because although I've detected a lot of sites it's never been one of those. My particular site is smack dab in a residential area and has no sign of who to contact to gain permission. if anyone knows how to do this it would be much appreciated. The construction site is open but I don't want to get in trouble for trespassing so a few problems.

Good luck with nails:laughing7:.Check your local trespassing laws.

Go to the local City/County records department/Courthouse and search the deeds OR give the address an they can tell you who owns the property.
I have to pay $1.00 for a print out if needed.

Most county have a website for their auditor, This site many times includes a map that you can manipulate and zoom into the area you are concerned with and then click on the property. You can then get access to the address that the Tax bill is sent to and to whom it is addressed.

Thanks I wasn't sure where to look and I wasn't quite sure who owned the property

if it is anything like the constrution workers around here ask one of them and see if they say it is ok to do it after they leave and then go for it. I will ask one of them and they always tell me sure go ahead but they will not be liable if anything happens. Good luck
