Detect on Sunday and Ye Shall Be Rewarded + Found a Six Shooter

Hi all, well I was hunting Sunday and found this cross. I found it at an old
camp. I think it is from Assisi Italy. On Saturday I found this old
cap gun, I call it the 1 shot-six shooter, you know the kind that only shot
one cap at a time, that is if your old enough to remember them.

P.S. I also wanted to post some of the junk I've dug since July. I already threw
this much out from the first part of the year. I hope that all of you are bringing
out the junk you dig. Why the heck do u want to dig it again. Also I hope you
are filling and covering your holes.

Thanks to all that replied and for all the information about the six
shooter. As for the cross it is 3 inches long and 2 1/4 inches wide. It is all metal
might be brass, it has a gold tint to it.

As for the junk, this is the third pile that I've had here on my trash masher. I have
cleaned it off twice already this year. As for it being on the trashmasher, I for one
go through everything again, before I throw it away. I have a big pail on the floor
filled with coins that I've dug out of this pile and the others. Also one time I was going
through my junk and found what I thought was a washer, after rubbing it, I discovered
that it was a Laws & Flags Civil War token. I pick up everything and check it before
throwing it away, hope you all do the same thing.

Good advice ! Last year i almost threw out a nice lead eagle's head sleigh ornament.I probably average about 10 lb's of trash a day.

Anyone near a metal recycling plant? We're lucky enough to have one in my town and that's who gets all those beer caps, rusty nails, well...you get the picture! So, even the junk metal makes me a few cents. Takes a while to get up a load and the last trip they were paying 2-1/5 cents per pound, but it adds up and keeps it out of yet another landfill!

I had several cap guns just like that when I was a kid. They came with a genuine cardboard imitation leather holster and belt that broke in about ten minutes! When the barrels fell off I pretended they were snub nosed revolvers and played detective. After about one roll of caps the spring broke in the trigger and then the hammer just flopped about. That's all the capguns my dad could afford to buy. I was poor and didn't know it so I had lots of fun pretending it was a really nice little gun. From what I know about the ones I had, they could be about fifty years old! Monty

You guy are amazing. I posted this article back in Sept and you are still responding to it. Thanks Skalleewag and to everyone else for replying to my post. Since then I have found another cap gun, that was made in the 1950's. I posted it not to long ago.

As for trash, I am still taking it out of my hunt sites. I just cleaned my coins from this year and came up with over 15 lbs. of lead. It is the form of sinkers and bullets. Wonder what lead brings at a recycle place. I sure got a lot of it.

I think I see a couple of little bits of copper pipe in your junk pile,I was at the scrapyard last friday and got $2.40 a pound for copper,might want to rethink what you are putting in the junk,I would guess the lead would bring 50 cents a pound or better,copper is where the really good money is. When I was a kid we would get like 40 or 50 cents for copper even just 2 years ago it was around 90 cents, HH...Shoot
