Detecting in Wet or Boggy Soils ~ Need Help

Typically, the majority of the soils which I hunt are in heavy clay, sandy loam or beach sand. Generally finds in beach sand, other than silver and gold jewelry, are trashed by the salt water, and at times, by wave action. Anything uncovered in other soil types are usually salvagable.

Very soon I will be hunting in a river delta that is 0' to 50' above mean high tide (and which is not subject to sea water intrusion), but which has an extremely high water table, depending on the rain season.

Parts of the search area is a year-round slough (boggy drainage swale) and the other portion is pasture-land. At times the water table is just below the surface. The soil type is silty-loam.

What is the condition of the metallic finds has others experienced...?
