deus 2 fresh water diving settings

just got one, havent even powered it up and i hate it already, should send it back, but gonna keep it. This machine gonna be excluseively fresh water diving. Can some one please tell me what settings they use for freshwater diving? and is there a way to knock out iron like my excals? im techno impared, so thank you

Use the discrimination controls to eliminate iron signals. I'd leave a few on both ends of the scale though as some gold and silver will wrap around. I agree that setting it up for diving is pretty ridiculous with that antenna BS. If you can live with the quirks, it does work good underwater though. Fresh water doesn't need anything special on settings usually. If in bad black sand, you may need to try a salt beach setting to see if that helps. Just experiment in the area you wish to detect to see which mode works best for you.

Sounds like you have a lot of EMI in your back yard. The Deus has issues with EMI from underground cable TV lines and noisy overhead transmission lines, otherwise it's fairly quiet.
Use the frequency scan when you are in a noisy area (Press and hold the upper right button on the remote until you see the screen change to the scanning display).
You can also quiet the noise down by notching from 98-99. A little more can be reduced by notching 5 and below (turn off iron volume).
That cuts a lot of the annoying chatter without interfering with most targets, hopefully quieting it down so you can use it in noisy areas without too much aggravation.
