DFX coil question

I am going to buy a small coil for trashy areas. I have a couple really old sites in mind and they are TRASHED. The coins will probably be real deep. I'm leaning towards a 5" excelerator, but I'm wondering if maybe I should get a 6"DD? Could sure use some advice as I don't want to waste a hundred maybe 200 dollars. Separation + depth = ? Let me know DFX pros! THANKS.

I have and use a 5.3 with my DFX and love it. It separates targets and really gives steady VDI's. Be aware that the depth of the 5.3 is only about 4". The depth is not a problem for me but that will depend on your hunting grounds. I will say I am in the market for a 6x10 or a 4x6 but most likely the 6x10 due to the larger area covered. Hey mate, depth is one of the last things you are going to get in dense trash.
Ask any of the UK detectorist when they hunt their trashy roman sites.

The 5" Detech coil uses DD technology and works great, I have one myself.

It is a stable coil, accurate pinpointing, the depth is also approx 4" on a coin, superb separation.

I have the 6 X 10 DD Eliptical on my DFX 300 and love it. I alsao use it in high trash areas and it give great coverage with excellant seperation. I feel that it is the best of both worlds in that while I sacrifice some coverage as compared to the 300 coil, it still gives me much better than a smaller coil such as a 4 X 6.
