I bought this a few months ago on eBay for $45, shipping included (but not the chain).

The seller wrote she 'thought it MIGHT be something special' but she wasn't sure.

It got here and I researched the hallmark and also took it to a jeweler.

It is a .33 carat, fancy-cut hexagon, almost perfect diamond set in 14K gold.

The fellow who made it was an Art Deco jeweler based out of New York in the 1930s named Sigmund Berger.

The guy who looked at it offered me $500, and I have seen similar necklaces on eBay for $1000 and more.

Not a bag of gold coins (which would also be very nice :laughing7: ), but my best find so far, and a treasure to me. I wear it every day.

Good eye ! And a very nice score. Nobody ever said treasure could only be found in the ground or under water. Congrats !

You got an unbelievable steal of a deal on that! I'd wear it proudly.

Old faceted diamonds have a fire that can't be compared to.

I bet that diamond has fantastic fire in the sunlight.

I gave my wife a .30 old cut and everyone comments
On its sparkle.

Congratulations!
