Hunting buddy, Buckshot, and I left work early yesterday and hit the deer-hunting lease while the deer hunters were still at work. We detected along a sandstone bluff that has a 4 ft carving of a pistol on it. The barrel of the carving points down so of course we were hoping it pointed to something. It didn't, but about 30 ft along the bluff in a shelter of sorts, Buckshot's MD sounded on a rock. It was small enough to turn over and look what popped out underneath it! To look around the surrounding countryside, there's nothing there, but some kid must have had a lot of fun chasing the bad guys around that bluff. I wonder if he ever thinks about the gun he lost? Here's pictures I took, Buckshot should be along shortly with pictures of the gun cleaned up. When we found it, we were hoping 30's or 40's, but now I think it's a 60's model?

I guess I liked the whole afternoon. I learned a lot about MDing also. Not sure what we'll do if the next rock is too big to flip over. It's kinda boggles the mind to look around there and wonder what else is waiting on us. Thanks for looking guys!
