Every time I got out in the sun I felt like leaving! LOL

Still, nice walk, some clad, couple of surprises, all in all a pretty nice day.

One heart stopper was practically a surface find. I figured a penny on top from the signal but when
I raised the plug I saw this:

I said, uh oh, heat stroke! I'm seeing mirages! ;)

Then I flipped the plug over.

2015 (399).jpg

Now, how does one figure why that was there? LOL

Another neat little surprise was this "penny".

Here's the rest:

Complete with a still working brass pin.

The ribbon was still attached but came off on the way home.

Crime isn't what it used to be, This was all they left
behind of my transportation. :dontknow:

2015 (410).jpg
Fishy's new claim.

Blingie's was another complete surprise.

2015 (411).jpg

When I found it, (on a tot-lot - attn Msbeepbeep! LOL), I just figured
kid bling. But, it's a lil more than that, not much though.
Looking at the loop very, very closely, I saw this:

2015 (401).jpg

Sorry, best I could do. It says 925 then a star with what looks like a "TU" in the middle
and the letters PGFL.

Thanks for visiting! Hope it wasn't too much!

i commend ya, it was ridiculously hot out the past few days, nice little heart charm!

good hunting!

Yeah, it definitely was a hot one here today, and you're a little bit south yet! My first " older " coin was found because I left the hot sun and decided to hunt the shade of a tree line. Nice finds Gary.

Nice looking spot! That medal is cool!!!:icon_thumleft:

DEFENSE MEDAL REALLY NEAT.

You had a great hunt lurking in the shadows. :notworthy: Someone's kid was probably given the medal, you know how they lose things.

Great jewelry and hunt!!:occasion14:. Love that medal:love10:

Conrats Whadi on the sterling and medal finds! Does the medal have any numbers on the edge? Remember, when it is hot outside...

Nice pictures there W , it would be hard to keep from grabbing the edge of that large coin ! :hello2: Lots of variety there, wish there was more "Goodie" sites out here like that you lucky MDer !

Thanks! That little sterling heart really grows on you, The more I look the more I like. In the field it just looked like some chrome kid bling.
Once I got it cleaned up though, I noticed the craftsmanship. It's actually two colors, the silver outside and an almost rose colored gold for the cross.
The little stones are probably glass. I just bet this was stunning when new. It's none too shabby now! :) I just wish I knew what PGFL stood for. :icon_scratch:
The star "TU" makers mark is interesting too.

The Medal? No, I don't see any numbers on it anywhere. :dontknow:

Thanks CRM!
Ya know, the "Goodie sites" are much more plentiful than anyone seems to realize. I mean, anywhere! If one has the patience, time, perseverance and takes the time to learn the machine in their hand as well as possible. Just about anywhere can be a "goodie" place. I'm still hunting places where everyone and their brother have already hunted. Even I have hunted these places before. But, each time I go out, I have a bit more experience and I always treat the ground I'm on as "virgin". I listen a little closer and almost always find something interesting.

Congratulations on the fine hunt!

That National Defense medallion is a very nice find.

Man I want to hunt with you After it cools down.Great finds

Nice silver bling and metal! Cute patriotic heart for Fishy. ...uh good luck getting the silver back from Blingie, not happen'n!
I bet first sight of that medal was exciting! It's a wonder you didn't hit the ground! Those first 3 seconds when imagination is in total control is quite a thrill!

I actually made it out Sunday but only for an hour and a half in a shady park. My first 2 spots were occupied, park was my last...and lest. I felt like calling it quits, too hot, but hung in. Got the usual and another odd metal piece. Didn't post.
Tot lot huh lol! I think I will go back to the tot lots I did better there, silver at lest and five dollar bills! Lol! And it has shade!

Glad you survived the heat and made some really nice finds!
I shall try to do better!

Did you test the stones in the heart? They may be diamonds, I've found a 925 GF ring had small actual diamonds in it! Test them.

Which do you prefer? Hot, tough to hunt? Or should I call for the snow to return? ;) LOL

I didn't test the stones because they all looked cracked thru the loop. Could be my eyes are cracked. ;)

Just keep swinging and having fun, the rest will come. Next time you're out ask Him to just take your coil wherever
He wants you to go and to show you whatever He wants you to find. Now, THAT includes, ANYthing! Trash is included.
Don't resist or try to "figure out" a path while you're doing this. Then, come back and tell us what you find and how you feel.

Nice day of digging and sweating in the sun

Really like that national defense medal, its tattered ribbon makes me picture it being worn by a soldier in a post apocalyptic war zone. Fury Road comes to mind. :treasurechest::thumbsup:
