Did the 3 boys dig 30 feet deep?

How did you determine the natural angle of repose for the native (never excavated) soil?

Based on discussions in other threads...the three boy/teenagers would have had to dig during the dry season on oak island which is June, July, August.
At this time the clayish till would be dry and hard enough to dig almost vertical walls.

The question is...what happens when they tried to remove the log platforms. I'd imagine there first encounter didn't go well causing partial collapse of the wall. This probably was addressed by enlarging the opening at the top changing the angle of repose to 75 to 80 degrees of the first 10ft.
The next encounters of log platforms probably went better keeping the angle at 90 degrees.

Using a 2ft to 3ft per day estimate, they would have reached 30ft in...
Best case: 2 weeks
Most likely: 1 to 1.5 months.

The 1 to 1.5 months fits within the 3 month window making this story possible.
