Different place same results but saved by a nice button

The weather around here is slated to go sour after today so,
even though I hunted yesterday I thought I'd give another place
a try today. Pretty much another clad day but I did manage some interesting
items again:



Bird band?


This was a strange find. I thought it was
just a cloth button from an old chair. But,
it's actually an earring!




I found a penny the same way back a while ago.
Maybe I can find the whole set? LOL


This button was my saving grace today. It's a solid button
but I almost never find these with any design on them.

This is as far as I'm going to clean it right now. I didn't even know
it had a design or that it still had some remnants of gilt on it until
I got home. I want to give the button experts a chance to identify
it if they can before I attempt any more cleaning.


The back is in poor shape but I can see some information there, just
can't quite decipher it yet.

If anyone recognizes the pattern, please feel free to share. Even a possible date range
for the type. If there are any suggestions as to further cleaning, I could use some.

Anyway, after two long walks in a row, I think I can tolerate sitting for
a few days. LOL

Never hurts to ponder such things, get the gray matter moving around.
My take on it, fewer people who were more careful with what they had. Also older usually means deeper, given that, old gold could be out of range of most detectors, except the dedicated gold seeking ones.
The finders of gold nuggets are finding the truly old gold.
What say you Sir?
I wonder what someone's buried gold candlelabra would sound like if you ran a detector over it?

About the gold being deeper, I buy that pretty much. I also figured that gold is heavier, hence, possibly deeper, quicker.

About the candelabra? I know already, but your won't like the answer. It would sound exactly like that last whole can you didn't dig up.
