Had some time, gas money and a rental car and took a trip downstate to visit the Soupster and try my luck at field hunting. I have to say I forgot how tough hunting a field can be. Dodging corn stalks and bean stubble and watching your step over the plowed stuff... I was beat after 2 full days of it! Very happy with the results though.

My Highlights: My first Barber dime (1916), and a 1916(s) merc that really had me excited. I was afraid to check the mint mark! Misc old items and buttons.
Soupie's Highlights: 1853 Seated dime!!! 1889 IH, old padlock, gnarly old forks, old buttons and other misc items.

First 5 pictures are my finds, the next four are Soup's and the last is the sunset from Saturday night.

HH all!

Nice finds and congratulations on another first on the barber. Too bad that was not a 'd', but an 's' is better than a plain for that date. Nice photos, I think the last photo though is the most beautiful of all though...

It was a pleasure having you down Jman....besides you always bring good brew :laughing7:

Not really sure where all we hunted this past weekend we were all over the place, several old homesites, two schoolhouses,a church and the old horse racing track from the spring hunt.....
Jman was like a bloodhound on the silver sunday snippin two from the old schoolhouse hit by several of us before and after the spring hunt,he got the rosie in the next field over at an old homesite as well as a few of the wheats...Saturday he scored his first barber dime (Grats man :headbang:) it was the first hole he dug when we arrived at the spot....lucky devil...although upon arriving I says Jason....go over there about 20 feet in,he does and walla...And no I REALLY did not plant that there....lol...It would be clad if I buried it...Saturday ended with a fine sunset and a tree in the foreground....oh and ribs on the hickory...

Monday we hit several spots as well, thats when I scored the seated....I whistled over and said hey I got a silver we walked to the car with it still in the dirt clod,Jason says its a seated its a seated,me Im thinking yeah right...lol...so we rinse it off and walla, its a seated....I think Jason was as or more excited than I was...truthfully I would have just as soon he found it after the long trip here, but I'll take it... ;D

Other items or happenstances....hmmm...well,we helped carry a cutterhead for a combine....we ate Burger King two days in a row.....the beer was cold and the campfire was warm...umm pig crap stinks....wash them clothes Jason...lol...I think that is all for now...well maybey not, shouldnt I get half credit on the F.O.B...

Thanks for showing up...It was a pleasure....

Much Luck out There FoLkS....
