All of my half dollar veins are tapped out! I still pick up whatever loose and CWRs that I can find. I am finding 3-4 40%ers a month.

My new goal is 2-3 dime boxes a day, 6 days a week. Hopefully I will find 15-20 silver dimes a week.

had my best box of dimes tonight!! 1947, 1951, 1959x2, 1963, 1964X3, and my oldest dime i have found hunting dimes a 1928 merc in good condition! I had 2 boxes the first box only produced a single 1964. feeling a little discouraged i opened the first roll of the second box and found a 1964 after that the rest of the box produced the above. the same bank had a few more boxes im gonna go back tomorrow and see if i can grab another. maybe they were the same batch.

With all the Brinks rumors, do you ever do Brinks dimes?

Also had the wierdest CWR Halves $50 3 rolls solid 1971, 1 roll solid 1975, and the last roll was solid Bi-Centenial halves

SOLID 1975???? 1975 halves do not exist (as far as I know of, maybe you discovered a new half). Also, that might have been someone collecting by date who dumped them.
 

1) I generally do not do Brinks box of dimes because I find the yield is lower. If you check my entire thread you will find some examples of brinks boxes

2) 1975 Kennedy half dollar does not exist, or 1975 washington quarter or 1975 Ike dollar. All quarters, half dollars and dollar coins minted in 1975 and 1976 were minted with the year 1776-1976.

3) I have come across solid rolls of copper nickel clad half dollars, someones collection they decided to dump.


4) Rumors are just that, I ignore them since even if they are true elsewhere in the country, that doesn't make them true where I live.
 

Looks like you find a lot of silver Canadian dimes. It must be the issue that silver Canadian coinage is passing through the magnets in the counting machines and get confused with the American coins, because neither stick to the magnet. Have anyone found pre 1937 Canadian dime by CRHing?

1. Brinks are the clear-wrapped ones, right? I got a box with 22 silver dimes last month.

2. If you found a solid roll of 1975 halves, you either 1.) read the date wrong, 2.) have fake coins, or 3.) have a uniquely rare find that is worth more than any of the cumulative silver finds from everyone on this board during the past five years and may very well rival the importance of something like the 1913 V nickel or 1964D Peace dollar. If the last of these is the case, God forbid you dumped them.
 

I'm about to try CRHing some Dimes today If my banks do not have any CRW Halves. Has anyone been successful with CRW dimes? I'll probably only try $50 so it's not high volume so I'm not expecting much.
 

Just tried CRH Dimes. Bought $50. All skunk. I'm not really bummed because I wasn't expecting to find anything. It was worth the experience though.

Volume, my friend, is the key to successful dime roll hunting. I try to pick up at least $1k-$1.5k per trip to make it worthwhile, because I drive a gas hog. Expect 1 silver per $100-$200 in dimes searched.

(9 boxes and $350 CWR searched, averages to 1 silver dime per $162 searched.

1.4oz of silver for $2.50
 

Dumped my halves today and decided to try some CWR dimes. I picked up $75 in Dimes and $3 in Loose Halves.

Found a 1976 Proof in the loose halves. Would have liked to find another date since I already have a 76 proof.

Now to the most important part of this post...I found one 1959 D! My first silver dime find! Boy those silver dimes do stick out amongst the clad. Today is a good day.
