Dirt Fishing-"The one's that didn't get away!"

I am new to MD'ing, as a couple of work mates of mine, and me and my husband, have all started a new hobby together. We have fun, even on the days we are not finding many keepers-we just love dirt fishing! My husband and I spent several hours in a couple of local parks yesterday, and here are our findings. . . MAYBE my first GOLD! (There are marking on the piece, but the writing is too small to make it out) some newer coins, although they don't look it, a couple of old keys, some bullet casings-they appear to be copper????, and a couple of old tokens. One is marked Celebration Station and looks to be copper. I am not finding this particular token on the internet to compare mine to, so if anyone has any further information on it, I would appreciate your feedback. Thanks for looking at my newbie finds! :blob7:

Hey Amyz;
Celebration Station was a kid's entertainment place. Think Chuck E. Cheese. I think that they were pre-Ch. E. Chs. though.
My wife works for the man that owned them. There used to be one in Merrillville, in. that they bulldozed several years ago. I remember my wife telling me that there were one or two others in the US, but I don't remember where, and I believe that they are all long gone.

Your token would have been used to feed the arcade games.

I'm curious as to where it was found, and how far it had traveled.

*It was found in Brunswick, Ga. in a local park. I saw some similiar tokens on ebay, but none with this symbol on the front. Also, the ones for Chuck E Cheese had his character printed on them, this one did not. On the back it stated For Replay Only......Any additional info you know/learn about it would be great to know! THANKS!

This is not affiliated with Chuck E Cheese, I just mentioned the well known place as a reference to what these were like. They hosted parties, you could just take the kids or a date for an outing. They served pizza, and some other food. had cotumed characters, lots of arcade games, and outside there was miniature golf, and go-cart.

I asked my wife where the others were at. She said she couldn't remember. I mentioned that I thought there were only a few. She gave me a sideways look and said, "Mr. White, (her boss) doesn't do anything small."

I'll see if I can remember to ask her again, and see if she can get some info at work. Is Brunswick near a city, either in Ga. or a neighboring state?

It looks like 923 to me and from what I have read that would be 22k.

Amy;
I was hunting with my son Sunday, when I pulled something out of the ground that I really had to smile about.

My first Celebration Station token! :laughing7:
