found this near a creek bank in an area known to have been frequented by Native Americans, any thoughts on what this might be?

come on guys

Larger picture would be better but if that is a penny it looks to be a stone bead.

Need a better picture, this one falls apart when I try to blow it up..... Just from what is visible it looks like a geofact or stone bead right now...

No discoidal there looks like a fossil but I would bet if found in context with other pieces it was most definitely used as a tool by NA ;) nice find

Looks like a bead to me. Had I found it, persuading me it is a geofact would be tough.

I don't know much about beads good call NC

Would need to see the hole up close and also both sides of the stone straight on in good lighting.
I have..and have seen many many perfect " looking" items that are completely natural.

Look on the the outside edge for use and wear.

With better pics I may lean toward a bead. cool find:thumbsup:

I guess I will be the only one to say I think it looks natural to me. Maybe a better pic will change my thoughts, but from what I see there I don't think it's a Bead.
