Dodge Brothers Hub Cap

I found this in the field of the #2 cellar hole this morning. It is the hub cap from an old wooden wheeled Dodge. See the cap in the second pic over the hub!

Looks like somebody ran onto a curb with it or hit the side of a rock and knocked it off.

Nice cap Romeo.

It's funny me and my brother have found a few at old cellar hole sites. I guess the old dirt rds in the wooded areas were rough on the wheels.

That is one great find. I would say that would have fetched a good deal of money to a collector that needed one to complete their baby

. Alteast it seems like it would fit into the catagory of rarer.

Today is Feb 28, 2015 and I just found the exact same one in a park in Carthage, Mo. Was searching online to ID it when I found this post. Glad to know what I have.

Ha! I just found a Ford Model T hubcap yesterday and was thinking about this very find and thread...the only other hubcap I've found!

Interesting that the Dodge Brothers originally began their business as auto parts manufacturers and supplied parts to Ford, beginning in about 1902 through 1913. Then they left off the Ford contracts and started their own line of automobile mfg. This was WW1 and the US govt contracted them to supply military trucks. The rest of the story we all know. BTW nice hubcaps you found, both the Ford and the older find, Dodge Brothers. Very Cool.
