Does my delta 4000 have a short?

I recently got a delta 4000 for Christmas. I've super excited and have been using the delta 4000 almost all day ever since I got it. I noticed something on the coil that looks like a burn hole. Is it normal for the coil to have this? Should return the metal detector? I'm a complete novice to metal detecting and want to take care of my metal detector. Hope it's not ruined.

Probably just an imperfection in the mold. If it's still working, stick it in the water to make sure it doesn't leak. These machines have good warranty's so I would use it for a while and just keep an eye on it. Good luck and welcome to the addiction.

Yes i'm addicted for sure. I'll take the advice and keeping using it. Found a bunch a pennies and an old lottery scratch off token with it. Can't wait to hit some spots I've been researching.
