but nice when you get a hit and don't have to dig
my hunt partner for the day wanted to sleep in - he called me when he was on his way to meet me
I was in a small field he was not interested in hunting - I hung up and without taking a step - swung...got a hit...looked down and this is what I saw
not a big deal - just cool to see them sticking out ready for the plucking

Cool photo, what was it?

Just bending down and picking them up beats diggin a hole anyday !!!

Don't get any easier when you can eyeball them..I can barely see the dirt, much less the coin .. so I would have walked right past that one...

Good Job!!

My only surface finds are modern day clad. Lol

Sweet find!!

Yeah, that's why I was given my nickname. But, to tell the truth, I'm with me ALL the time and I KNOW! I miss a LOT!!! LOL

Nice!

Sometimes, when I see something laying there, I feel a bit cheated somehow. I paid good money for this detector! It should've found it before I do!! LOL

That's great! Been detecting 5th year and still only found one Indian head penny.

I found LC and King George II before finding the Indian LOL.

For you they're popping out of the ground! Awesome!!!!

Very cool. I'm pretty sure a guy found a Mass silver on top one time. You just never know

I know one was found about 50yrds away from my find

Always a thrill to find round greenies on the surface. Nice!

I don't think I ever got a silver coin this way - know I got a KG half out of the ground and a large cent laying flat on top in the past for coins and have gotten musketballs and buttons this way too

Sweet Casper , easy pickings ! Had a nickel that was sticking out of the mole hill last time I went out to the nickel farm !

Saves time digging for sure! I only have one surface found IH myself. Cheers!!

Congrats! That's exactly how I found my last Indian on Sunday!

Very cool how such a old coin was just laying there.
is it a field that's plowed over?

I found a LC in my cornfield like that once, blew my mind

IHCs are hard to come by around here. That is a nice pic! GL&HH.

Nice one Casp..

Nice score. I remember finding a 45-75 lever action rifle case pushed up out of a mole hill once. And another time it was a fur trade "nipple" ring sitting on top. Those moles don't seem to care much for metal.
