I first spotted this dog trotting down main street of the little town of Kooskia, ID., with what I think is the backbone of an elk....I missed getting that picture, but found him in an alley where he stopped to gnaw on it.....The otter was in the creek near town.

Love those Otters, just don't see to many around here. Last time I saw them in the wild was one morning turkey hunting 5 or 6 years ago, 2 of them came up a creek we were crossing jumping and splashing around.

Cool photo, thanks for sharing! :occasion14:

Now a dog with an elk backbone isn't something you see on main street often around my parts!

What is that white stuff all over the ground? Oh, you're in Idaho.

Nice otter!!!!

Thanks for sharing the photos.

That whitestuff is "global warming". Great pics, as usual, Ron. The last otters (a family of four), I saw, were up on the Salmon River Near Challis. Seeing them always makes me smile.

Nice pic. Thanks.

What a prize. Looks like he'd not just sit there and let you take that away from him with the look he's giving you. How nice to have another encounter with an otter.
