Now, before this turns into some freakin debate thread on legality I'll stop you right there. This is not illegal, it is only illegal if my intent is to commit fraud IE turn a Quarter into a Half or a $1 into a $10 and spend it as currency or take a common date coin and alter it to look like a rare or valuable coin, like changing the date of it ( I am familiar with section 331 of title 18 of the united states code already so save you copying and pasting it here!) yada yada yada ect..... Besides all those machines that are ALL over the US and in every National Park and every other park in between that your kid can put his/her penny or nickel into and have it crushed into a park token or a button of some sort would be illegal too. So don't bother commenting if you wanna debate it.

Now, this is something that i found to be very cool and have taken up making these and selling them, just figured that I would show my friends on here and see what you thought about them or if any of you might be interested in buying one for your self or other. It is time consuming and def a skill that takes much practice ( my arm and fingers are killing me lol) I can make any State Quarter ( Silver or Clad) Half Dollars ( Silver or Clad) Foriegn coins ( there is a pic there of a Large English Penny) and am going to do Morgan and Peace Dollars too. Before anyone freaks out I AM NOT DOING ANY RARE OR KEY DATES!!! So please keep that in mind, I am only doing common dates nothing rare, unless you want to send it to me to make. So anyway, take a look at my pics ( sorry for the low quality pics) and tell me what you think? I became a charter member but am not sure about posting anything here about prices or stuff like that so I will make a for sale post in the charter member section? Not sure, I have to nose around the site and learn a little bit more. HH, Maverick.

I've seen a similar video on youtube making rings out of coins. I still think Its a cool idea. Id love to have a 90% quarter wrapped around my finger in the form of a silver ring. Definitely cool that you're doing this Maverick. And regarding this being legal, I know it is and am educated on the laws regsrding making "novelties" out of coins and whatnot. Its not altering the state of the coins for fradulent purposes and is in fact legal.

My wife is wearing a 63 Quarter right now but is at work, I'll get a pic of it when she gets home tonight and post it for you. As far as the legal thing, I've been here for a long time and we have all seen threads about marking coins and what not turn into a big stupid pissing contest about the law and the way everyone's interpretation of it is:BangHead: so I'm just trying to "head that off at the pass" :laughing7: so to speak lol. Just here to show my craft, that's all :occasion14:. HH, Maverick.

ya bud,ill take atleast one or more.let me know the price.p m me

LOVE IT!! sold a silver GW last year to a guy who was going to make a ring and give it to his gf. contact BEEZ0404, he does jewelry with coins. nice way to make extra cash, which is as good as money LOL :--))

Awesome Mav! I've seen youtube videos on this too & always wanted to make some but was afraid if just ruin the coins. I see them selling on eBay in the 20-30$ range.

Hey BB, thanks! Yes, there are some on feebay for cheaper than mine, but, if you look in the inside of theirs the details are mushed and marred on some, they do not protect the inside detail as well, if at all, mine I do. there are some that are nice inside and sell for less than mine, but they have special equipment that lets them churn these things out really qwik. Mine are hand made and take me most times over an hour to do. They are priced all over the road from $25- 65 , I'm trying to stay in the middle at about 40-45 with shipping included. HH, Maverick.

You should make a ton of them & get a booth at a major coin show (like Long Beach). I bet you'd sell them like hot cakes.

Hey mav, looks great to me!

Maverick,

Good job on the rings.

Regards + HH

Bill

I have always wanted to try this. I even researched and watched countless videos on how to make them. I think k they look awesome! I like how some of the state quarters turn out. How many did you screw up before they started turning out looking good?

Well, I practiced on clads first to get it down before attempting the Silver..... So far 1 64 that cracked on me and 1 Canadian quarter that cracked on me last night, forgot to bevel the hole before I started hammering on it.... I wanted to cry, it was my only one I had I think. The State Quarters are pretty easy to do, I didn't really mess any of them up, those I sell pretty cheap $10-15 for the clads and 30 for the Silver Proof. HH, Maverick.

How long does it take you to make one ring? That's a pretty nice profit from something that costs you .25 cents.

The half dollars can take well over an hour to make, the clad state Quarters about half an hour? Not going to get rich doing this for sure, plus I have to buy any coin that someone wants if I don't have it to make, I don't keep the Silver State Quarters on hand so I have to pay for those ( can't find them CRHing:laughing7:) not a whole lot of profit after you figure my labor and time into it.

Hey mav, they look amazing! I'm happy to hear that you're starting this up!

You'll make more money doing those rings then you will CRH on most days

This is pretty sweet. I've seen these before and have thought about doing one, but I've never given it a try.

I suggest going to the local coin shop and snooping through the foreign coin bin for clad, brass, or cupro-nickel coins with unique designs. You can generally get foreign coins quite cheap (like 12 for $1).

Here are some shots of one I just finished, for the member who wanted to see them. Again, sorry for the crappy pics, but you can see the inner detail goes right to the rim. HH, Maverick. Can also polish to mirror finish too, depends how far you want me to go. This is a 10 1/2.

Hey Pt, well my wife came home and just told me that she sold it to one of the lady's on her mail route lol, she saw it and asked my wife about it and after her whole shpeal to her about what I do she said she wanted to buy the one my wife was wearing right then so I guess I have to make another one for my wife to wear, so I'll post a pic before she gets it this time. HH, Maverick.
