Silver question on Ike's. Are all 1971-1976 Ike Dollars 40% Silver

Nope, not all.

The ones that are:
All of the 71-S, 72-S.
Some of the 73-S, 74-S, 76-S. Obviously these will require a little more effort to determine composition. Edge check and yes the drop test if you are not worried about loosing potential value from a numismatic perspective. The other check is that the silver issue weighs 1.91 grams more.

Only the ones minted from San Fransisco from 71-76 are 40% silver. These are not easily found as they were only released as proofs or for collector sets - in other words, they were not minted for circulation.
