No offense but I dont see it in yours. I have never seen one (double point) but have plenty of damaged points to view of my own collection that I have found.

Believe me rock, I completely understand. It takes a pretty good eye to see the light chipping that's here. Have you tried the magnification feature?

Hey, while I got your attention, would you mind checking out my other thread and help find all the fakes?

I did... And I am not seeing what I want sir.. I couldn't care less what you have there.. I'm just stating what I see in the photos

Well, judging from the evidence presented, It's solved. Double tipped point it is!

Will still like to hear any more reasonable suggestions though.

well.......... excuse me and the poor rock gator boy. I'm not going to change that rock to make it fit what you want to see!

But I sure am interested to know what you want to see. Lets hear it.

Apparently the only reasonable suggestions are the ones that line up with your expectations.
I don't know why I started wasting my breath here.

ok that wasnt it. Lets try this one. Dang didnt work.

You will see what you want, I see whats there, and it is more than just an impact fracture.. now get over to my new thread and start pointing out all my fakes.

OK..

Yeah, and I am wondering why would you present us with a shot in the dark?

you 2 are being silly IMO. Its not a contest as to who is rite and who is wrong. Its about looking and finding artifacts and having fun.

LOL, no the silly thing is someone thinking their "shot in the dark" is more intelligent than Grims, GTP's, Overstreets, mine and a few others call.

Shot's in the dark rarely hit their mark, and that one missed the whole barn.

I'll tell you, looking at the point on-line had me doubting the guy, I thought is was just an impact fracture too. It wasn't to big a concern because it wasn't a piece of his in the deal I was really desiring. It's was far from a deal breaker. But, when I got it in hand, and saw the intricate flaking forming the tips, I changed my opinion.

Here is the rework I wanted to show you yesterday. Its not a point anymore but now a tool.

Nice one. What kind of tool are you thinking? Halfted scraper? Spokeshave?

Gator and Rock, are you two saying you see an impact fracture and not a reworked impact fracture? I see lots of tedious flaking on an impact fracture. Enlighten me, how would two points penetrate as well as one large, needle sharp point? Could it be possible that this was reworked and used much as rubber bullets are today? You know, put a stinging on someone's ass without doing serious harm. Also Steve V., I can see no reason that your piece wouldn't have been an effigy. Maybe effigy isn't the right word. You know kids had to have something to keep them occupied, even back then. Why not work a spent point into the shape of a four legged animal as an attempt to occupy a child? Seems logical to me. Cool pieces here!!

no idea but it sure is a neat piece.

I really think that your point hasn't been reworked. It appears to be a badly broken point, and if it was all there it would have been one heck of a nice one.

I'm not sure just what the function was on these types Points, but there are quite a few well documented finds of these types. Mine is definitely worked just as you see it. There was no impact fracture on that one. It is flaked that way. I have also seen several examples at shows here in Ohio that were also purposefully made just that way.

why wouldn't yours be an eccentric? I've also read about doodles. I'm not sure if that is a slang or just what it is.
