Dowsing results not expected

Back around 2004 while living in Arizona, next to the Black hills Camp Verde, I was up in the mountains, Dowsing for Meteorite signals.
I was new to Dowsing, and chasing Meteorites, and had been taught to only chase lines with at least 4 Elements in them, making the chances better, that it was a Meteorite, rather than a Earth rock.
I liked cutting corners, and used only Dowsed Elements, Iron and Nickel. I had a connection line to follow, hoping it was a Meteorite.
About 20 ft away, I had chased the signal and found the Target.
It was 4 little square head Iron nails, here is one in the pic.
Confused I went back and chased the Nickel signal. It was a small piece of a link of Galvanized fencing, at the same spot the nails were at.
It was a hard rock mining area.
I do get a unexplained dowse connection from galvanizing and Nickel.
My first Dowsed nail. We find junk too .

Just before that, I was only Signaling with Iron. There is Iron in every volcanic rock around the area.
Dowsing and chasing only Iron signals led me to 2 rocks I retrieved from different areas, that were highly magnetic. No Meteorites again!

I tried using only Nickel for Meteorites also. I was way up the top of a mountain/hill and chased a signal line to about 50 away from the old trail I was on.
Stuffed under a bush was a stack of 3ft wooden steaks, with a 1" metal tag on them all.
No Meteorite again.
It's best to Dowse the line for multiple Elements before we chase, unless it's close..

Yes I could before interference kept getting worse.
I quit smalls right after that, because of that, and started chasing only big signals
