Capped Bust quarter and killer finds at local park!

CORRECTED TITLE (CAPPED BUST QUARTER)

----

I missed out on a week of detecting and had a major itch to get to the dirt. So in the afternoon I headed to my favorite local park that I've been pounding for the past 2 years.

I hit the same areas as usual ( the ones that have been good to me in the past) never expecting much, maybe an Indian it a merc that I missed on my previous hunts, never the less, today my deus and I were on fire, I first got the 1903 Indian, few minutes later I was on fire;

When I saw the silver disc pop out from the ground I was not expecting it to be more than a silver Washington quarter, then I saw the eagle back and was stoked that I pulled a seated, when I turned her over I saw it was even older, a CAPPED bust, 1834!! She made me work for it, the ground was extra hard, but she's worth every drop of sweat!

The other finds include additional 5 silvers, 2 Indian cents (one being a 1909 non-S) a buffalo nickel which I have to gently clean, a stack of wheaties and 2 old buttons, one looks really old:

In summary, this was one of my better days, and given that I already pulled a lot of history from this place, makes it even sweater!!

Happy hunting!

Thanks for the info Barker!
Hi BARTEK; The BQ is a beauty. Now about the buttons. The one with the holes in is called the BEEHIVE Pattern button and dates to about 1810 ok. I did some button research a while back ok. PEACE:RONB

Nice work, those capped bust quarters don't turn up very often. My oldest quarter has been a seated one for the past ten years and counting!

It's kind of strange why a little hang nail hurts so bad, and a major itch one can scratch until you've dug a hole down to a rib and it feels so good to be scratching it. You dug a hole for sure scratching that major itch and it must feel really good as the results look great, congrats on the finds.

Just saw this Bart...major congrats on the quarter, the buttons, and the rest of the finds there! Outstanding hunt brother

Wow! "You hit it out of the park" Congratulations! :occasion14:

That quarter is a fantastic find! I've hunted hundreds of early sites here in eastern Va, and have only 2 bust coins to my credit - a dime and half dime. A bust quarter is not even on my radar at this point. I'm very impressed!

I found an capped bust dime and month ago, along with a cob and it did not make banner. Lol.

For the record I casted my vote for ya steve lol, should've been up top

a capped bust quarter? Just incredible!!

How was the signal? Solid, or a bit more scratchy?

Wow, what a great hunt. That Capped Bust is worth getting excited over.

Incredible, that is one coin that I have been hoping for.
Big congrats

Very faint, but high tone. I use full tones on Deus.
