So I decided to search some dimes before work today and figured I'd give the usual bank I visit a break. I went to a fairly new location to me and ended up only one box since funds are low until payday. Anyway, got to work and started busting in the parking lot. I figured it would take me the usual 20 or so minutes and was really early as is.

The first 3 rolls produced all clad but roll 4 contained 5 silvers! Roll 5 had 3 silvers, roll 6 had 4 silvers and to be honest the rest of the box went this way. It took me well over an hour to open this box and it contained 3 enders including a merc. It seemed as if there were more rolls with silver than without and they all had multiple! There were 3 rolls containing 5 and many more containing 3 or 4.

Total count: 8 Mercs and 65 Rosies!

I just starting coin roll hunting and this was my 10th box of dimes. It was hard for me to start work then but on my lunch break I cashed in the clad and went to that same bank to get another box. This one only had 1 silver but I had to give it a shot with what just happened.

Anyway I'll get some pictures posted tomorrow. I went from 22 dimes to 96 in 1 day!

Great box of dimes. I thought my box of 12 yesterday was doing good. Every time that I thought that I had more than one silver in a roll, it turned out to be a Canadian sailboat, happened 7 times. Great way to jumpstart your collections of dimes and hopefully there is more where that came from for you.

Best box of dimes i've seen on here! What are the years and mintmarks on the Mercury dimes?

Awesome dime box Bunky.

I could swear that someone found something like 100 dimes in a $250 box last year. I'm going to see if I can find the thread.

Wow that is incredible, he had 90 including 8 mercs, I had 73 with 8 mercs. That's a lot of silver for $500 in dimes.

The dates on the mercs are as such: 1943, 1945, 1945, 1940, 1936, 1941, 1926, 1925, 1942 (there is 9 total now, I mixed my other merc in with them and not sure what year that was)

Are any of those key dates?

Nope, key dates for the Merc series are '16-D, '21, '21-D, and arguably '26-S.
