dredging and highbanking question

Ive been lurking for a bit, and was just wondering something.

Could I use the same pump that I use on my highbanker, as a dredge pump?

The reason I ask is because Im trying to pack light, and the river is not the largest.

You'll need to spec out what you have a bit.
Yes, there are some pumps that will handle both and are light weight.
