It does sound interesting Steve, try again to get a photo up.

Take your secretary more often! Is it a more decorative piece? like a burial, or ceremonial? sure is pretty!

it is extremely thin........but i still don't know............what do cyou think??

That is a nice piece Steve, it is odd could be a drill. Does it have a bevel on the edge ?

Sure is one sweet find! Somethings we'll never know about some of the artifacts we find. Just maybe some young brave got carried away and this was the end result?? Anyway, the secretary has it framed and on her wall? Or did she give in and let you keep it? :laughing7:

gosh, it's beautiful!

yup judie....it is framed and on the wall behind her desk......and she is proud of it
thank you my friends

I'm guessing that's an older piece than what you normally find there?

I would say its a heavily re-sharpened notched point. Looks too thin and delicate to be a drill. beautiful material!

Sorry, merely a geological natural find. I would encourage your secretary to continue scouring the field, in the hope that something actually an artifact might turn up. (Jokin, good find. Maybe reworked into an awl?)

thank you my friends

So you're saying your secretary got drilled...in the field...and now is hanging the evidence on the wall...and is proud of it...

yup.....yup that's right!
now that i look at it.......... it is kinda thin to be a drill???
steve

Beautiful material!
It looks like an exhausted knife to me, the base is probably very smooth.
Beauty.
