Drop riffle sluice vs fluid bed sluice...

Fluidbeds typically either process very little material or they lose -120 mesh gold. HOWEVER a self classifying, high volume fluidbed will process so Much more material that you’ll go home with more gold in most cases.

I have got a drop riffle sluice (Angus Mackirk Foreman) and a fluid bed (Grizzly Gold Trap). I haven't done a direct comparison test and I like them both, but I can run a butt load more gravel on the GGT and can classify larger on it (or not at all) than I can running the AM. I seem to have no problem catching fine gold with either but I usually will use the GGT and run a lot more gravel.

Drop riffle and a fluid bed sluice are very different from each other. Both have the place.
