Drove 1,400 miles & found one ring!
The wife an I made our biannual trip to the Outer Banks to spend a week with friends and relatives. This year, we chose Carolina Beach as our vacation spot. There were 18 of us for the week, so we rented a very nice place that slept 26. It was also the first time to the ocean for my daughter and the grandson. A GREAT week that was topped off with me being able to locate a lost wedding ring for a local gentleman.
On our second morning there I got up early to head down to the sand to swing my trusty Tesoro's coil for awhile. I'd only been out for about five minutes when a gentleman in surfing attire approached me and asked if I would look for his wedding band he had lost the day before about 30 yards from our house's beach access. He showed me the area, and I set about my search. On my second signal his lost ring was in my scoop's basket. I couldn't believe it! It had taken me less than five minutes to locate it. He saw me waving frantically from the beach so he caught the next wave in with a HUGE smile on his face. He asked what I wanted as a reward. I told him that a photo was all I needed and would head up to the house to grab my camera and a photographer to take the pic.
Karma was definately shining down on him that day. What are the odds that some vacationer from Iowa with detector in hand would happen to be there at the same time he was getting ready to surf? Ya just never know I guess. My total for the week was his ring, $1.27, and countless memories with the family and friends. Doesn't get much better. Good Luck to all!
