Went out to the soccer fields today. The weather was sunny and in the low 60s. Must have been a drug bust scheduled in town. There were 16 police & sheriff deputy cars in the parking lot all huddled in conversation. Then they all sped off at the same time in different directions. I was going along finding the usual clad in one of the smaller fields. The fields had recently been aerated since the season had ended last week. Near one of the aeration holes I got a multiple tone indicating near the surface location. My pinpointer found the edge of the coin. Sitting on top of a quarter, dime and two pennies was a 1916 D wheatie...my oldest coin found this year. A hour later, after a token, soccer medallion, a goal stake and assorted other stuff, bingo. I found my second sacagawea dollar coin this year. $3.67 total in clad. Not bad for a two hour hunt. Thanks for looking.
