Does anyone out there know how to dry pan with a regular gold pan? (NOT dry-washing/blowing) I've heard it done but don't know if it actually works, if it's very effective or how to do it. If any one knows how please let me know.
Much thanks :)

What pan do you have? The Garrett super sluice has instructions on the back side..

I've never tried but I think it could work but it's a heck of a work I hear.

I just have a regular 14 and 10.5 inch Garrett's green gravity trap pans. and some classifiers.

It works, but it is not nearly as efficient as wet panning. The problem is that you are using a whole lot more gravity and a whole lot less specific gravity. Specific gravity is what makes panning work. If you shake the crap out of it you can get a sort of liquifaction that will help you get a little bit of the advantage of golds high specific gravity. You will lose gold, and it isn't super eficient, but it is better than picking gold out of sand by hand.

I have tired it. It is a pain. If you must….Spread the material out to dry. If it is not 100 % dry it will not work…..Art
