Duckys Thread - Georgia Panning and Prospecting.

Well i was on the gold this morning. Here is another 30 min worth of digging. This gold is way more shaped than anything i have ever captured here before. Excuse the gnarly looking finger, i cut the very tip off years ago and my nail grows different....

Do that every workday and you'll get ripped and get gold! Love to see a weight after a week or month of this!

Well it has been one heck of a week for me. Waking up in the mornings with more emails that i ever got at the old job. At one point i had 65 emails i had to read through at 8am. Anyways. Got some deep V mat in today. Been working on a sluice off and on during work hours.. shhhh don't tell!!! Here it is, very basic and made for slower water like i have here locally. I have about $17 in this sluice total.

Looks perfect for that little creek we visited together :)

The game is on everyone... I just got permission to hunt the ONLY creek in Villa Rica on private property that is lined with exposed bedrock. According to the land owner, the creek diverted its path about 4 years ago during a HUGE flood we had. I used to flow over the bedrock and has worked its way through a hole inside the bedrock now. I will take some pictures tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Awesome! Good luck. Looking forward to pics or videos

Didnt get to go to the new creek today. I went to my usual creek (gold pics to come) and as i was shoveling into my bazooka, in the same shovel full, i noticed 2 rocks that were unlike all the others ive seen in this creek. Any help identifying would fantastic. The small round one is pinkish in color and smooth as glass. The clear one has zero color at all and is smooth on the edges. At first i thought it was just clear quartz, but its is so smooth and almost feels like its frosted or coated in dry soap or something... best way i can explain it. Let me know what you guys think this could be. I am at the deepest layer i have ever been in at this creek and i believe this stuff was in clay.

The gold! Super chunky for my area

No... Despite him being excited with me, he is trying to contact his insurance company to get the right documentation for me to sign as a wavier. I provided my own but he wants to use one provided by his insurance. Im sure this is just another way of saying "after i told my wife she said no so go make up something to stall him"

Well, got out this morning and broke through the clay layer I was hitting. Here is a picture of the clay I was dealing with. Now I'm in sort of a mucky silty quartz riddled layer. Best way I've found to deal with the new layer is to place the blade of my shovel on the zooka and rock it left to right to break it up. If I try to dump little by little onto the plate, it clumps and doesn't break up before the grizzlies.

Wouldn't let me add a picture with edit from my phone here is some of the gold from the first pass. I'll keep redoing it until I have nothing left in the pan.

Well, got out for about an hour this morning. Expanded the hole a bit. Still working the bottom aswell.im digging right behind the down stream side of those 2 "Peninsulas". As I was breaking up some clay I hit a piece of glass stuck in it and cut my finger. Gloves from now on! Gold pics to come

Here is the take for the day. I'm shocked it was this much. One of my bazooka tools was clogged with a leaf that I didn't discover until after....

Do this much regularly and it'll really add up!

Not gold related but exciting. Got my blacksmith forge back up and running and just started on my first knife in YEARS. Tomorrow is the grinding, hardening and tempering.
