Guy should be wearing a blaze orange jacket, but then he's out there in all that traffic.

No idea what the laws are for those thing....maybe better if he uses the crosswalk? :dontknow:

Yeah we got a guy on one of those up here. Laws I was familiar with say your vehicle must pay taxes to operate on public roads unless it is farm equipment. I don't know what they are here. Saw him today, and he was pretty much operating it like a motorcycle, as we were all stopped at a light and he came down the middle. This thing will run and keep up the speed limit on the neighborhood streets. Nice guy, really is disabled, all us locals know him, but I do think that safety vest would be a good idea due to the amount of tourists we have here.

Gas taxes fund the roads. Followed by property taxes ( I'm guessing) . Around here you need a license plate ( tax), insurance, and proper brake/turn signals, lights for darkness. So many ways to tax things. The photo guy is a traffic hazard and danger to himself.

It’s a mobility scooter. I don’t mind them at all since it’s usually elderly people on fixed incomes (that have paid a lifetime of taxes) and cannot afford to get around any other way. It’s sad that if it were not for the public assistance fraud we could help those who did their tour paying taxes for 40 years. Yet we continue to tax those that are beyond their working years or physically unable to work while perfectly able people work the system and leach off our generous payments.

I’m “Liking” your likes! No button for that.

We have Amish driving their buggies on roads with no license plate and no insurance. Legal in IL. Luckily they are only in the next county east of me.

Because their buggies are not motor vehicles. Vehicle laws don’t apply. Safety regulations do though. Here they have to have lights (or lanterns) and the slow moving vehicle reflective triangles.

Just have to slow down a little and watch for people on all kinds of contraptions. Just like watching for deer or cows in the road. I’m sure you all have the electric kick scooters and electric bicycles running around town. Here they sometimes are on the sidewalk, running stop lights, going the wrong way in a bike lane, ect. We are now seeing young children riding them without helmets. Most can run 25 - 35 mph. Most of the homeless tweakers ride E-Bikes in my town, so you. Never know what you’re going to get.

NOTICE the clothes wearing. Looking to get hit by a vehicle and then blame the driver

No, likely just not thinking. I see A Lot of people walking or riding bicycles in the fall wearing all black when it gets dark early. They have no reflectors and are incredibly difficult to see at night when it starts raining. I almost feel like there should be some public reminder and free reflectors for folks on foot or improvised transportation method. Could save lives or at the least keep the traveling public from accidentally killing someone. Reflective or solar flasher

It is legal to drive golf carts or utility vehicles on all but the main roads here.

It just depends on the state you are living in to determine that answer ! In Missouri , if it is a farm implement it don't need a plate BUT a triangle "slow moving vehicle" is a penny's worth of safety ! On my ATV I run my snow plow with a fiberglass rod w/ a orange flag and I'm rigging up a yellow strobe light on a metal pole above my head Hight to alert ANY vehicles coming up on me ! I used to clear snow (for my 7 neighbors for free) every year for the past 20 years . Now most have passed and I'm still here for now !:)

Yes in some states people get all excited about shared roads because it’s different. Other places you can drive dirt bikes ATV’, SXS, even snow mobiles on the road and it’s accepted as normal. People used to ride horses along the road in my county. Now people are so stupid, they would probably honk their horn at them while giving them the finger for slowing them down.
