I got a call from one of the landlords of a site I hunt....she lost her jeep keys.. So I went to find them. She is a new property owner on a site that was a huge camp.. has produced well for us over the years.. lots of plates!!! My first virgins camp 18 years ago.. I dug it hard, parts of it last year with the DFX and the new Spider coil.. dug close to 100 bullets.. So after finding her keys.. I eye spotted them with out using the machine I spent an hour or so hunting the areas low enough to hunt, lots of stubble in the fields This is one of those spots you dig any signal and most bullets are nothing more the a slight disruption in the ground balance and then will pinpoint.. most of them at the 10" to 15" mark... high filters, slow sweeps speed, low hot rock reject and and AC hitting 78 and a PAG of 3.. so.. long story short I dug 4 bullets.. all 8" or deeper.. I have found some Colt Repeating rifle bullets there before... tons of Washington Star base and the US bases I have dug. So tonight I found 3 regular three ringers and one Colt repeating rifle three ringer. it is the right cal and matches up perfectly In my Civil War Projectiles II book as #352. Look forward to going back once it is bush hogged and the horses have a chance to eat their fill.
So.. not a bad week.. 14 bullets, a NY State Seal and a good Eagle Button!!!
Here are the pics
First all of them .. second a close up of the repeater
