Dug a beautiful Barber dime

Dug this beautiful 1914 Barber dime along with a 1905 Indian head cent in the same hole. Only good finds plus one wheatie from a hunted to death park in downtown Albany, NY. Dime just had a quick water rinse. One of the top ten Barber dimes I've ever dug.

Thanks for not wiping it with your thumb! See so many awesome coins here that look like they were cleaned with sandpaper. Makes me sad when that happens...

When I see someone rub a silver coin fresh out of the ground, I just cringe ! I actually poured a little Pepsi on it while sitting on a napkin and very carefully wiped it clean. Then rinsed in water when I got home. Too many people are anxious to see the date and swipe the dirt off. I hate seeing those micro scratches.

How old is that park? Sometimes they move dirt around the park when they redesign certain things and that brings up older stuff.

Park dates to late 1800's but area has seen activity since early 1700's. In the shadow of NY State Capital building.
